How to Measure Popularity on Twitter
Twitter is a microblogging platform that allows users to send short messages, or tweets. Twitter users can "follow" another user, which means they receive each of the other user's tweets. Some Twitter users, such as celebrities, have hundreds of thousands of followers. In business circles, experts or more influential people in a particular area often have greater numbers of followers. If you want to measure your own popularity on Twitter, there are a few free tools you can use to find out how popular you really are in the microblogosphere.
