How to Dispose of Smelly Diapers

How to Dispose of Smelly Diapers thumbnail
Dirty diapers can be a stinky problem.

Throwing out diapers may seem like an easy task, but they can make your trash area, a whole room or even your whole house smell if they are not disposed of properly. You can also dispose of your smelly diapers when out and about, the same way you can dispose of them when at home. Other shoppers or diners will appreciate the effort you take to keep the wash room from smelling like soiled diapers.

Instructions

    • 1

Shake the diaper over a toilet to let any loose stool roll out. The more stool you can get out of the diaper, the less it will stink.

    • 2

Roll the diaper up and secure it with the hook-and-latch tabs. This will contain the smell and any stool left in the diaper.

    • 3

Place the diaper in a plastic bag and tie it up. You can use a regular plastic bag from the grocery store or purchase special scented bags made for this purpose. Either way, the plastic will help keep the diaper from stinking up your trash can.

    • 4

Throw the bag in your trash can. If you have an outside trash can, it might be worth your time to throw the diaper away there instead of in your kitchen or bathroom trash.
