How Do I Get PowerPoint Slides Into Photo Story?

Microsoft's PowerPoint and Photo Story programs are sometimes used together to create a slide show or presentation. While PowerPoint is geared more towards creating multimedia presentations for professional use, Photo Story creates a slide show using a person's photos and combines them with optional music, sound effects and narration. With a few steps, your PowerPoint slides are imported into Photo Story and used in your next photo creation.

Instructions

    • 1

Open PowerPoint and access the presentation you would like to import.

    • 2

Click on the round Microsoft button in top left corner, then click "Save As."

    • 3

Click on location in your computer where your photos are stored or click "Desktop" for a location that is easier to remember.

    • 4

Click the black down arrow to the right of the "Save as type" field and click "PNG Portable Network Graphic Format." Click "Save."

    • 5

Click "Every Slide" on the screen prompt to export all slides in the presentation. Click "Current Slide Only" to import the currently selected slide.

    • 6

Click "OK" to acknowledge that each PowerPoint slide is saved as a separate image in the exported folder.

    • 7

Open Photo Story and click the circle next to "Begin a new story" or "Edit a project," then click "Next."

    • 8

Click "Import Pictures." Click on the location where the PowerPoint presentation is saved. Click on the folder with the presentation's name. The slides appear as image files within the folder.

    • 9

Click on a slide, then click "OK." Repeat as needed. The slides appear in the film strip along the bottom of the screen.
