How to Access the Cache in Safari

A Web browser's cache stores information from previously visited websites for future reference and use. If the cache becomes too full or corrupted in some way, it can negatively affect the browser's performance. With the Mac Safari Web browser, you have two options for the browser's cache: you can access and clear the cache from directly within the browser itself, or you can access and view the individual cache files within the OS X Finder in a few simple steps.

Instructions

Click the "Finder" icon in the computer's dock, followed by the "Applications" folder icon. Double-click the "Safari" application icon to launch the application.

    • 2

If you want to empty the cache, click the "Safari" tab and select the "Empty Cache..." option from the Safari menu.

    • 3
