How to Get Rid of GoogleUpdate.exe
GoogleUpdate.exe is a process that belongs to Google Update, a tool that allows you to keep Google programs including Chrome and Earth up-to-date. It runs in the background, searches the Google server for updates and installs them where necessary. If you prefer to install updates manually at your own convenience, disable the GoogleUpdate.exe process. Disabling it does not damage or interfere with your programs.

Press "Ctrl," "Alt," and "Delete" together to launch the task manager.

Click the "Processes" tab. Scroll down the list of running processes, click "GoogleUpdate.exe," then click "End Process." Close the task manager.

Click the "Start" menu, type "msconfig" (without quotes) in the search box, then click "Msconfig" under "Programs" to launch the "System Configuration Utility."

Click the "Startup" tab and then clear the "GoogleUpdate.exe" check box. Click "OK" to save your changes, then restart your computer.

Click the "Start" button, click the "Control Panel," then click "Programs and Features" if you want to remove GoogleUpdate.exe completely.

Scroll down the programs window, select your Google application, then click "Uninstall" to remove the program. Remove additional Google applications to get rid of GoogleUpdate.exe completely.
