Face painting is a great activity for children's parties, fairs and parades. This cute Love Bug design is simple enough even for beginners. Love Bugs are a version of the more traditional ladybug with hearts in place of the spots and are often used in craft projects as a declaration of affection. Things You'll Need

  • Alice headband
  • Red facepaint
  • Black facepaint
  • Cup of water
  • Make-up sponge
  • Thin facepaint brush
  • Black facial glitter gel

Instructions

    • 1

      Use the Alice headband to pull any stray pieces of hair away from the face.

      Use the brush and the black facepaint to draw a circle around the end of the nose.

      Use the same brush and paint to draw three hearts on each cheek, spacing them evenly.

      Fill in the circle and hearts with black face paint and draw a straight line down the center of the face from the circle to the middle of the chin.

      Rinse the brush in the cup of water and then use the red face paint to draw a semi-circle around each cheek, from the middle of the black circle on the nose to the end of the black line on the chin.

      Use the make-up sponge to fill in the semi-circles with red face paint, using the brush for any fiddly bits.

      Finish by using the brush to draw antenna from the black circle head and adding dabs of glitter to the hearts and the ends of the antenna using a fingertip.
