How to Make Metal Polish Into Paste
Metal polishes remove any oxidation, hard water or other build up on the surface of metal objects. Some metal polishes are liquid, which you apply with a clean cloth. Others come in paste form. Brass Polish

Mix 1 tsp. salt with ½ cup white vinegar. Mix until the salt dissolves into the liquid.

Add just enough flour to the liquid solution to make a thick paste.

Rub the paste over the brass object and let it sit for 10 minutes.

Buff the paste off with a clean cloth. Rinse the brass and dry it completely.
Silver Polish

Mix 1 tbsp. baking soda or washing soda with just enough water to make a thick paste.

Rub the paste into the silver to remove tarnish.

Rinse the silver and dry it completely with a clean cloth.

Add just enough salt to 2 tbsp lemon juice to make a thick paste.

Rub the paste into the silver until it appears clean.
