The Apple iPad is the manufacturer's flagship tablet.

Newspapers and magazines such as the New York Times and Wired all have versions available on the Apple iPad. These tablet-specific versions have functionality that takes advantage of the iPad, including video and interactive aspects. If you want to get these publications on your iPad, you simply have to navigate through Apple's iPad store.

Instructions

      Turn on your iPad.

    • 2

Click the "App Store" icon to bring up the App Store.

Click the text entry box in the upper right-hand corner. Type in the name of the publication that you are searching for into this text entry box.

Press "Search" on the keyboard. Here, the search results page will be separated into sections for iPad-specific apps and iPhone-specific apps. The iPad-specific applications will be listed in the middle of the search results page. If you see an iPad-specific version of the publication you want to read in the search results, click its entry in the iPad-specific application search results to bring up its product page.

    • 5

Double-click the smaller rectangle underneath the application's main icon to download the publication. This rectangle will either say "Free" or list a price. After this, the iPad's screen will transition from the App Store to your desktop. The application's icon will appear on your iPad's desktop with a download progress bar nested inside of it. Once the download progress bar disappears from within the icon, your publication will be ready to read.
