Your cell phone, home or work number is displayed on the screen of the receiver or phone of the person you are calling. Blocking your caller identification prevents the person on the other line from seeing your name and number on his phone's display. A simple-to-enter phone code blocks your phone number when you call, and does so without any fees included.
Turn the phone on or take the phone off the receiver. Wait until you hear a dial tone if using a land line.
Press the star ("*") key at the bottom of the phone's number pad.
Dial the code "67" directly after the "*" key.
Dial the number you're calling. Dial the full 10-digit number if you're not making a local call.
Press "Dial" or "Send," if necessary, to place the call. Your phone number is blocked on the other person's phone display.
Tips & Warnings
- Contact your telephone service provider if you want your number permanently blocked on other phone displays.
- Not all phone numbers accept calls from hidden or blocked numbers.
