How to Integrate Twitter Hashtags Into Facebook

Use Facebook and Twitter together to save you time for other business tasks.

Let's face it; even if you have the time to spend updating your Twitter, Facebook and all the other social media outlets you have, that time could probably be better spent doing something else. Because of that, it pays to integrate your Twitter and Facebook accounts so one updates the other. Once you have your Facebook and Twitter accounts linked, you can add Twitter hashtags to your Facebook updates, which will allow Tweeters interested in the topic to find your updates. To get started, you'll need to have administrator access to the Facebook pages you want to integrate.

Instructions

1. Log in to Facebook with your username and password.

2. Navigate to the "Facebook to Twitter" page. This will open a page that displays all the pages you have administrator access to. Click "Link to Twitter" to link a particular page with a Twitter account. Once you click "Link to Twitter," enter in your Twitter username and password and click "Authorize App." Your Facebook and Twitter applications should now be linked, so when you send an update from Facebook, it should update your Twitter feed.

3. Navigate back to your Facebook page. In the "Write something" box, type in a status update, then add a hashtag that pertains to that topic. For example, if your status update is about nutrition, type "#nutrition" at the end of your status update. Keep in mind that Twitter updates can only be 140 characters or less, so if your Facebook update is longer than that, the hashtag at the end may not appear in your Twitter update. So long as the entire update is less than 140 characters, the entire message will appear on Twitter, and the hashtag should help other people interested in that topic find your update.
