How to Use Michelin Smart Jumper Cables
Michelin Smart Jumper Cables introduce a new level of simplicity into jumping a dead battery. Unlike conventional cables, which must be clamped to matching terminals on the battery, the "Smart Cables" automatically adjust polarity. There will be no sparking, no fires and no exploding batteries should you make the wrong connection. These would make a great set of cables for the trunk of a younger vehicle operator, or one not so confident in his auto knowledge.

1
Turn off both engines.
-
2
Attach the smart cables to the battery on the working vehicle. Clamp one onto the red (positive) terminal, and the other to the black (negative) terminal. It doesn't matter which clamp you put on which terminal, because the "Smart Cables" will make the adjustment for polarity.

3
Attach one cable to the red (positive) terminal on the vehicle with the dead battery. Attach the other cable to exposed metal on the car frame or engine block of the disabled vehicle. If both of the LED lights on the "Smart Cable" are green, proceed with the jump start. If they are not green, adjust the connections until the lights are green.
-
4
Turn on the working car. Run it for 30 seconds.
-
5
Start the car that needed the jump. When it starts, remove the clamp attached to the exposed metal on its frame or engine block, and then remove the remaining clamps in any order.
