How to Get Shorter URLs for Your Facebook Pages thumbnail
Help your clients find you faster with a unique Facebook URL.

There once was a time when Facebook URL's consisted of a string of hard-to-remember numbers and letters that had nothing to do with the page or business they were associated with. But with the integration of unique URL's for each Facebook page that are hand-picked by the Facebook page administrator, it's now much easier for fans to find you. To get a unique URL for a Facebook page, you'll need to have administrator access to the page.

Instructions

    • 1

Log in to your Facebook account using your username and password.

    • 2

Navigate to Facebook's "Username" page. Under the "Each page can have a username" tab, you'll see a dropdown list of all the pages for which you are an administrator. Select the page for which you want a unique URL, then type in the desired "username" in the box at the right of the page name and select "Check Availability." Facebook will then check if that username is available.

    • 3

Click "Confirm" in the next popup window to confirm the username you've chosen. If the username is not available, start the process over to select another one. Once you've confirmed the username, you can direct your fans to your unique URL. For example, if the username you've chosen is "Example," the URL should appear as something like "www.facebook.com/example."

Tips & Warnings

  • Be sure that the username you choose is the one you want to keep forever, as according to Facebook, you cannot change a username once it's been confirmed.
