How to Use Twitter on My Phone

SMS is a quick way to access Twitter on your cellphone.

Twitter offers two options for using its popular service on your cellular phone -- Twitter Mobile and Short Message Service (SMS). Twitter Mobile is a website designed especially for mobile phone users and you can access it by navigating to Mobile.twitter.com on your phone's browser. Alternatively, you can use SMS to send and receive text messages to and from your phone. To use SMS, you must sign up for the service.

Things You'll Need

• Cellphone
• Twitter account

Instructions

SMS

1. Text the word "START" to your Twitter code. The code you should use will depend upon your location and mobile service provider.

2. Wait for the return message and then reply with your Twitter username.

3. Wait for the return message and reply with your password.

4. Wait for the confirmation text and reply "OK."

Twitter Mobile

1. Open a Web browser on your mobile phone.

2. Type "http://mobile.twitter.com/" into the address bar. The Twitter Mobile website will load.

3. Sign in to your Twitter account by clicking the "Sign in" button.

Tips & Warnings

• Once you have set up your Twitter account, any texts you send to your Twitter code will be posted as Tweets.
