How to Adjust Flexible Eyeglasses
Flexible eyeglasses, usually made of a flexible plastic, typically last longer than inflexible frames, because of their resistance to shattering or breaking. Because you wear these glasses for a longer period of time, they are more likely to become misaligned and require adjustment. Although you can safely make minor adjustments to your glasses, you should avoid any serious adjustments to prescription lenses. Wearing prescription lenses improperly can lead to safety problems and increases your chances of future eye problems. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Place your glasses on and determine where they need adjustment. Are they sitting too high or low on the nose? Are the frames tight on your face or are they so loose they are falling off? Are they uneven or misaligned?
-
2
Determine how you must bend the glasses to fix them. If your glasses are crooked you likely want to bend them at the nose to push the misaligned lens into alignment. If the tips of your glasses are tight, you want to push them outward. If the glasses are too high on the nose you want to push the nose portion downward or outward.

3
Place the glasses on a stable surface, such as a table or bathroom counter. Do not place them on a metal surface as a metal surface will heat as the glasses heat.
-
4
Plug in a hairdryer and turn the heat knob to low. Run the hair dryer over the plastic frames of the glasses, avoiding applying heat to the lenses. Warm the glasses for two or three minutes.
-
5
Push the plastic frames of the glasses in the appropriate direction.
-
6
Allow the glasses to cool for about two minutes and place them on your face. If they fit properly, remove them from your face and run them under cold water. If they require further adjustment, warm them for about one minute and adjust them further.
