Instructions for a Bayco's Grip-Tite Super Clamp

One way to light up an area where you are making repairs is to use a portable lamp. The Bayco Grip-Tite Super Clamp lamp uses a heavier spring action on the clamp than other models. The clamps have a rubber coating that helps prevent slippage once you attach the lamp to a nearby surface. Because of the spring action, Bayco uses a handle to open the clamp to avoid the need to spread the clamps apart with both hands as you would with a standard clamping lamp. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Squeeze the spring handle above the clamp portion of the Bayco clamp light against the main stem of the light. The stem is the portion between the light reflector and the clamps. Squeezing the spring handle opens the clamp.

    • 2

Position the Bayco clamps over the object or material to which you want to attach the light. Avoid having the lamp hang with the reflector shield side pointing down, because the weight of the shield and bulb will cause the clamp to slip. Always position the lamp so the shield and bulb are above the clamps.

    • 3

Release the spring handle to engage the clamps over the material. Position the grooves in the clamp against a corner of the material if possible.

    • 4

Connect the lamp cord to an electrical outlet using a heavy duty extension cord. Twist the switch on the back of the reflector housing with your fingers to turn on the lamp.

    • 5

Turn off the lamp when you are done and unplug the extension cord from the wall outlet and the lamp. Squeeze the spring handle against the stem and pull the lamp away from the material.
