How Can I Get a Copy of an Eviction Notice Filed Against Me?
Evictions are a matter of public record. The local sheriff's department serves the original notice to evict the tenant, and a copy of the notice is filed with the county clerk's office. In the event you did not receive the eviction notice, or have lost your copy, going about getting a replacement is an easy procedure.

1
Find the contact information for your local county clerk's office. You will find this information online, or the listing found in the local white and yellow pages under the county services section. For an Internet search, type in the name of the county and then clerk's office. As an example, if you live in Judson County, open your browser and search for Judson county clerk's office. If the search turns up your county of residence, the contact information for the clerk's office is viewable on the website.

2
Call or e-mail the county clerk using the information you obtained in Step 1. Provide your full name and the address of the property you are in danger of being evicted from; also provide the landlord's name. The county clerk will provide you with instructions on where to go to receive the copy of your eviction notice -- often the clerk's office directly.

Follow the instructions for pick up of your eviction notice. Most notices are held at the clerk's office, and a similar copy at the county courthouse. Once you have a copy of the notice, it is time to take action on the eviction proceedings according to the information outlined in the notice.
