How to Reformat a Dell Insperion 1525 Laptop

The Dell Inspirion 1525 is a laptop computer that comes preloaded with the Windows Vista operating system. It features a 2 GHz Intel processor, 2 GB of memory and a 120 GB hard drive. Reformatting a volume of the hard drive will permanently erase all of the information stored on that volume. Computer users often format hard drives to "reset" the computer to its original condition.

Instructions

1. Open the "Start" menu on your Dell Inspirion 1525, then select "System and Maintenance."

2. Click "Administrative Tools," then "Computer Management."

3. Click "Storage," then click "Disk Management."

4. Right-click the hard disk volume you want to format, then click "Format."

5. Click "OK" when the dialog box pops up, then click "OK" again.
