Instructions

  1. Soft Candy

    • 1

Melt the candy chips in a microwave-safe bowl in the microwave for one minute. Stir the candy with a spoon, then heat for one minute again if the chips are not completely melted. Repeat the stirring and heating process until the candy is melted.

    • 2

Spoon the candy into a squeeze bottle. Squeeze the candy into clean, dry molds. Tap the molds two or three times on a flat surface to remove air bubbles.

    • 3

Place the candy on a flat surface in the freezer for about 10 minutes.

    • 4

Turn the candy over onto a large sheet of wax paper. Tap the mold onto the wax paper to loosen the candies. They should fall right out of the mold. If they do not, push gently on the back of the individual molds to release the candy. Store the candy in an air-tight container.

    Hard Candy

    • 5

Heat the candy mixture in the pot to 295 degrees Fahrenheit. This is typically the melting temperature of hard candy.

    • 6

Spray the hard candy molds with cooking spray to make it easier to remove the candy when it hardens.

    • 7

Pour the candy into the molds while it is still in liquid form. Fill each mold completely with the liquid.

    • 8

Allow the candy to harden at room temperature. Press your finger into the back of the candy to test for hardness. If you finger can no longer make an impression, the candies are hard enough.

    • 9

Turn the molds over onto a sheet of wax paper. Press on the back of each mold to loosen the candies and remove them from the molds. Store the candy in an air-tight container.
