Save

Cydia is an application for the iPhone operating system that allows users to download and install applications for jail-broken devices. Once you install it, it is fairly simple to use and has a large volume of help and FAQ resources available online. Installations take place using web-based source links, and a working Wi-Fi internet connection is necessary for new downloads and any software updates.

  • Turn on your iPhone. Connect to a Wi-Fi internet source. Plug in your iPhone, or check that you have a fully-charged battery before proceeding.

  • Restart your iPhone before downloading and installing new Cydia applications. Locate the Cydia application on your iPhone desktop. Tap to open.

  • Select the option marked "Sections" on the bottom menu within Cydia. Select the appropriate category for your IPA and continue to navigate down through the program category types until you locate the correct IPA. Tap the name of the IPA to open the installation screen. Select "Install" in the upper right hand corner of the Cydia window. Select "Confirm" in the upper right hand corner of the Cydia window. Wait for the IPA to fully download before exiting Cydia and restarting your phone.

  • Use a source to download the IPA within Cydia. Open Cydia and select "Manage" from the menu at the bottom of the Cydia window. Tap "Sources." On the top left corner, select "Edit" and then "Add". Enter the source link for the IPA in the field and select "Add Source." Select "Install" in the upper right-hand corner of the Cydia window. Select "Confirm" in the upper right hand corner of the Cydia window. Wait for the IPA to fully download before exiting Cydia and restarting your phone.
