How to Put Links in Twitter
Twitter makes it easy to share links to pages on the Internet. When you add a link to your tweet, Twitter will recognize the link format and automatically make it click-able. When any of your followers click on the link, the Web page will open in a new browser tab or window. When you add a link to a tweet, it is a good idea to include the title of the Web page, if you have room. You can also shorten the URL with a third-party service.

Examine the Web page for a Twitter button. These are on many Web pages and may say "Tweet this" or "Share" with or without a Twitter icon. Click on it. This will take you to your Twitter home page, or open a pop-up window. Edit the tweet as desired. Then click the "Tweet" button to post the link to Twitter.

Manually include a link in Twitter by highlighting the URL in the address field at the top of your Web browser. Double-click the URL to highlight all of it. Press "Control" and "C" on your keyboard to copy the address. Then paste the address into your Twitter text field, or onto a Twitter application like Hootsuite or TweetDeck.

Shorten a long URL by using a URL shortener like Ow.ly or tinyURL. These are short URLs that will automatically redirect users to the link of your page. Just paste the URL into the URL field, press the button, then copy the shortened URL. Both Hootsuite and TweetDeck include shorteners in the application.
