How to Dig up Buried Treasure in FF13

Play through the main storyline until you complete Mark Mission 12, which unlocks the "Font of Namva" area and the Chocobos.

Keep playing through the main storyline until you complete mission 14 and receive the Gysahl Reins.

Walk around Archlyte Steppe and look for one of the many Chocobos. Chocobos are marked with yellow feathers on your map.

Mount the Chocobo and travel around Archlyte Steppe. Buried treasure is hidden nearby when an exclamation mark appears above the Chocobos' head.

Watch for the exclamation mark to quickly expand and contract. Wait for the on-screen message stating you have found and been rewarded with treasure.
