How to Find a Scripture & Speak God's Word
Speaking God's word is something that many people feel unqualified to do, even though everything that is needed to share His message with others is readily available to anyone. While it can be intimidating to share God's word with others if you have never done it before, it will become easier the more you do it. Preparing by finding suitable scriptures will make it easier to feel confident when you decide to talk to someone about Christ.

1
Find a Bible concordance to assist you in finding appropriate scriptures. One thing that keeps many people from reading the Bible is the feeling that there's no way to find the information they are looking for. There are many Bibles on the market now that have not only a standard concordance but also a concordance that offers verses for specific situations in modern life.

2
Read through the verses that you are led to and decide which ones are the most relevant to the people you are hoping to share God's word with. There are many verses that are well written and have a good message, but for the purpose of speaking God's word, it's best to find messages that are clear in their meaning.

Pray before you speak God's word. Asking Him to give you the message to share can bring clarity to your mind. Many clergy and lay speakers feel that after they pray, the message God wants shared becomes clear, even if it isn't the message you had intended to share.

Take the scripture verses and messages to others. Sharing God's word is most effective when it is done in a non-judgmental manner. You want to share the message without making the person you are speaking to feel as if you are coming down on them for the situations in their own life.
