How to Cancel Someone's Bid on eBay

Selling an item on an online auction site can give you access to hundreds of thousands of potential bidders and customers from around the world. Sellers on eBay can cancel bids from a buyer if the bidder asks to withdraw the bid; if the seller can't verify the identity of the buyer or if the seller wants to end the auction early. If you've listed an item for sale on eBay and want to cancel a bid from a buyer then you'll need to cancel the bid from the item's listing page and fill out a short online form.

  • Launch your Web browser, and sign in to your eBay account.

  • Click the link for the item on which you want to cancel the bid in the "Active Selling" section on your "My eBay" page.

  • Note down the unique item number from the top-right of the listing page. Note down the user identification of the bidder who made the bid that you want to cancel. This is listed in the "Bids" section of the listing page.

  • Click the "Cancel Bids On My Item" link.

  • Type the item number and bidder user ID into the relevant input fields in the online form.

  • Enter your reason for canceling the bid in the relevant box.

  • Click the "Cancel Bid" button.
