The temperature control for your refrigerator is easy to replace.

Inside your refrigerator is a small dial that controls the average temperature of the unit. The dial is usually located toward the back of the refrigerator or on the side wall. Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the refrigerator from the wall.

    • 2

Pull the knob off the unit.

    • 3

Remove the two to four screws holding the temperature control on the unit. The control is connected to the fridge by two wires, so do not pull out too hard.

    • 4

Pull on the connectors, not the wires, leading to the control. You may need to use needle-nose pliers if they do not pull off by hand. Mark the wires with masking tape to help you remember their orientation.

    • 5

Plug the wires into the new temperature control. Set the control into the side of the refrigerator and replace the screws. Push the knob onto the control. Plug the refrigerator in and test the control.
