How to Make a Skeleton Costume With a White T-Shirt
People of all ages enjoy dressing up as a skeleton for Halloween. While some people purchase a costume at a Halloween specialty store or a costume shop, more adventurous or crafty individuals make their own by painting a T-shirt. Ideally, you can paint white bones onto a black shirt. However, with some patience and a lot of black paint, you can also make a skeleton costume with a white T-shirt.
Things You'll Need
- White T-shirt

1
Using a pencil, sketch the front view of the ribs, sternum, spine, clavicle, and other bones that are visible on the front of the shirt, using a picture of a human skeleton as reference.
-
2
Paint the space around the bones black. Leave the bones paint free, allowing the white of the shirt to show. Let the shirt sit for a few hours and dry completely. Read the label on the bottle of paint to see how long it should take to dry.

3
Flip the shirt over once it has completely dried. Using your picture as a reference, sketch in the rear view of the skeleton.
-
4
Carefully paint the portions around the bones black. Leave the bones paint free, allowing the white of the shirt to show. Let the paint dry before wearing the shirt.
-
5
After the shirt is complete, finish the skeletal look with some face and body paint.
