How to Saute Strawberries
Bright, sweet and juicy, strawberries are a treat on their own. But you can saute the berries to soften them and release their tasty juices. Sauteed strawberries are perfect over ice cream and cake, or topped with whipped cream. Pour them on top of pancakes and yogurt or add them to hot cereal for breakfast. It takes less than five minutes to saute strawberries and the end result will have you wanting more. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 1 pint strawberries
- 2 tablespoon brown sugar (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil

Rinse strawberries thoroughly and pat dry.

Cut the stem off of each strawberry and slice in half lengthwise.

Combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl to add a syrupy glaze if desired. Toss together with the strawberries.

Heat oil in a nonstick skillet over a medium-high setting.

Add the strawberry mixture and cook, stirring often. Saute the berries until they just begin to soften and release their juices, about two to three minutes.

Remove from heat and serve warm or at room temperature.
