How to Make a Wedding Coloring Book

How to Make a Wedding Coloring Book thumbnail
Wedding photographs make great images for coloring books.

While many people don't think of coloring books when it comes to weddings, creating a personalized wedding coloring book allows younger members of the wedding party and younger attendees to appreciate the event they just saw in a whole new way. There's no reason to scour stores or the Internet for wedding-themed coloring books for these young people. You can just use your own photos. You just need to tweak them first to make them suitable for such a project.

  • Computer
  • Photo adjusting program such as Paint Pro or something comparable

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your computer and open up the Paint Shop or comparable program that lets you alter digital photos.

    • 2

Open your digital pictures using that particular program. Click on your first picture. Go to the area of the program that allows you to reduce the noise. With Paint Pro, you click on "Adjust" then go to "Photo Fix" and then go to "Digital Camera Noise Removal."

    • 3

Verify the "Link Detail Sizes" is checked. Type "100" in the "Small Setting" space. This will cause all three noise correction settings to adjust at the same time.

    • 4

Adjust the "Correction Blend" to level 70 and check to verify that Sharpening is at zero. Hit "okay."

    • 5

Go to "Effects" and select "Edge Effects". Click on "Find All". This will cause your picture to look like a simple drawing done in pencil.

    • 6

Go to "Adjust". Click on"Brightness & Contrast" and then click on "Levels". Set the following designated levels: Change the Channel to RGB. Set the input levels at zero and .17 and 240. Set the output levels at zero and 255. Hit "okay".

    • 7

Repeat this process with each picture and then print them out on 8.5 inch by 11 inch sketch paper. Compile each piece of paper together, using a piece of brightly colored card stock of the same size for the front and back.

    • 8

Put the left vertical edge through a three-hole punch and put a loose metal binder ring through each hole. Place letter stickers on the cover spelling out the date of the wedding or simply the words "Coloring Book" or anything else you'd like to display.
