How to View a Web Page in Normal Screen Mode

Four of the five major Web browsers--Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and Opera--allow you to view websites in both normal and full-screen mode. When a website is displayed in full-screen, the website fills your entire screen, blocking all other windows from view. This mode is especially helpful when playing games and watching videos. At any time, you can return to normal screen mode in any of these browsers using one of three methods.

  • Press the "F11" button to exit full screen mode and return to a normal screen.

  • Move the mouse to the top of the window to make the toolbar appear, if it is set to auto-hide. Click the "Restore Down" button, located in the center of the three boxes on the top-right of the window, to exit full-screen mode.

  • Click the "Close" button, located in the top-right of the screen to close the browser. Double-click the browser icon on your desktop, "Start" menu or quick-launch bar to relaunch the browser in normal screen mode.
