DIY Wedding Invitation Packages
Many couples hoping to save money on the cost of their wedding invitations select do-it-yourself wedding invitation packages These packages include the paper, accessories, and specially formatted software needed to prepare the invitations. Not only is all the stationery coordinated, but you can also order matching save the date cards, wedding announcements, programs, and thank you notes. Wedding invitation packages also include instructions for assembling the stationery's components, which is particularly convenient if the invitation has several layers, or is held together by ribbons or other fasteners.

Upload your wedding invitation package's software onto your computer. The software will allow you to print the invitation information onto the card stock with minimal manual formatting. Many will also provide you with borders, elegant fonts, and accents to add to your invitations.

Type the invitation's text onto the provided template, following wedding invitation etiquette. Remember that each phrase receives its own line and that the hosts are the ones who request the guests' company.

Slide the printer's paper sizer over to fit snugly against the card stock in the paper tray. Print one copy of your invitation to ensure that it turns out correctly. Adjust printing specifications as needed and print the remaining invitations.

Assemble your invitations according to the manufacturer's instructions. This is often accomplished by punching two holes through the top of the wedding invitation's layers and tying a ribbon through the holes.

Address the envelopes and place the invitations inside. To seal the envelopes, wet the glue line on the inside of the flaps and press downward. To add additional style and individuality to the envelopes, either place a decorative sticker at the center of the flap or seal the edge with hot wax pressed with a seal. Many wedding invitation packages include one or the other to add flair to your stationery.
