How to Choose a Default Photo for Google Maps
Google Maps is an excellent, no cost, online tool that provides valuable information such as local maps and driving directions. The Google Maps website is linked to other Google services such as Google accounts and profiles. If you use a Google profile for advertising or just want people to be able to find you using Google Maps, update your Google profile default photo with a picture of your choosing.

Open a Web browser and visit the Google Maps website

Log in to Google Maps using Google account credentials. Click the "My Profile" link located in the top-right corner of the Google Maps page. Click the "Edit my profile" button located in the left pane of the Web page.

Click the "Add picture" link. Click the "Browse" button in the "Upload a picture of yourself" Web page that appears. Navigate to the picture file you wish to use, then click the picture and press the "Enter" key.

Place the mouse cursor over the highlight box in the "Crop this picture of yourself" page. Press and hold down the mouse button and move the highlight box to position it on the portion of the picture you wish to use as the default photo. Release the mouse button.

Place the mouse cursor over the "Resize handle" button located in the lower-right corner of the highlight box to resize the highlight box according to your preference.

Click the "Apply Changes" button to crop and save the picture as your default photo.
