How to Turn on the Internet Explorer Nude Filter

The Internet is a good tool for research and connecting via social media. However, if you are not careful, you can be bombarded with sexually explicit images and material. If you have young children in your home, or if you are tired of receiving such images, you can activate a filter. Internet Explorer enables you to block inappropriate content for any or all users of your computer.

Instructions

  1. Specific User

      Open Internet Explorer. Click "Tools" and "Internet Options."

      Click the "Parental Controls" option under the "Content" tab.

      Click the username for which you would like to block nude content. To create a new user, click the option to "Create a New User Account."

      Click the "On" radio button to turn on parental controls. Select "High" for the web restriction level. Click "OK" to save your settings.

    All Users

      Open Internet Explorer. Click "Tools" and "Internet Options."

      Click the "Content" tab. Select "Enable" under the "Content Advisor" section. Enter your "Content Advisor" password. Click "OK." If you have never created a password, you will be prompted to create one.

      Click the "Settings" button in the "Content Advisor" section. Enter your "Content Advisor" password again. Click "OK."

      Look under the "Ratings" tab. You will see a box containing web content categories. Click the "Nudity" category. Drag the slider bar all the way to the left to select "None." Click the "Sexual Material" category. Drag the slider bar all the way to the left to select "None."

      Click "Apply" to save your settings. Click "OK" to exit the "Content Advisor" window.
