Instructions

    • 1

Shuck the corn by peeling back the green leafy skin. Start from the tip of the corn and peel back to the stalk, breaking back the remaining stalk once your reach it. Use a dampened paper towel to remove the stringy silk from the remainder of the corn cob.

    • 2

Place the corn in a pot large enough to support the corn you are boiling and water. Add cool water to the pot until the corn is just covered.

    • 3

Place the pot of corn onto a burner on the stove. Turn the burner to high until the water begins to boil. The gradual heating of the corn cooks the corn cob from the inside out, providing a tender corn kernel. Do not allow the corn to boil for more than one minute before removing from the heat.

Remove the corn from the hot water with tongs. Place the corn in a dish and season to your liking. Add butter to the corn while it is hot, giving it time to melt into the kernels.

Tips & Warnings

  • Add a little sugar to the water to sweeten the corn, this is especially helpful during the early part of corn season.
