How to Clean a Blu-Ray Disc Lens on a PS3
Over time, the laser lens on your PS3 Blu-ray player can collect dust and other obstructions that can affect the ability of your lens to read a disc and process the information accurately. What this will do is cause skipping, pauses and digital distortion while playing a PS3 game or watching a Blu-ray movie. In order to keep this from happening, it is a good idea to clean your laser lens with a Blu-ray laser lens cleaner every 3 to 4 weeks.

Turn on your PS3 by pressing the power button on the right side on the front of the machine, then press the "PS" button in the middle of your controller.

Slide the cleaning disc, label side up, into the disc slot on the front of the PS3. The eject button will turn solid blue when the disc is properly inserted.
