How to Turn Off Google Updates
Google Updater is a program that installs on your computer when you download any Google product, such as Picasa or a Google screen saver. Once installed, the googleupdater.exe process runs in the background of your computer and notifies you when updates are available for any of your Google programs. If the Google updater causes your computer to crash or run slower, you can remove the program using the Programs and Features service in Windows.
