How to Turn on JavaScript in IE 8 With Vista

How to Turn on JavaScript in IE 8 With Vista thumbnail
Windows Vista includes the Internet Explorer 8 Web browser.

Internet Explorer 8, like other Web browsers, supports JavaScript. JavaScript support is enabled by default and allows Internet Explorer to run JavaScript files, which are short programs embedded on Web pages. These programs perform a variety of interactive functions, unlike HTML, which is formatting language. If JavaScript has been turned off, you can re-enable it in Internet Explorer's options dialog on Windows Vista. Many websites won't work if JavaScript is disabled in Internet Explorer.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the "Tools" menu near the top-right corner of the Internet Explorer 8 window and click "Internet Options."

    • 2

Click the "Security" tab at the top of the Internet Options window.

    • 3

      Click the "Internet" zone icon.

    • 4

Click the "Custom Level" button at the bottom of the security pane.

    • 5

Scroll down to the "Scripting" section in the list and click "Enabled" under "Active Scripting."

    • 6

      Click "OK" twice.
