Air mattresses help you accommodate unexpected guests. Some mattresses have a velour top that grips the bottom sheet so it doesn't slip off. If you find stains on a velour mattress, spot clean to remove. Clean stains as soon as you notice them; the more they set, the harder they will be to remove. If a young child is going to sleep on the velour air mattress, use a plastic cover to protect it from urine stains.
Things You'll Need
- Liquid dishwashing soap
- Scrubbing brush
Unplug the velour air mattress (if necessary).
Mix a few drops liquid dishwashing soap with 1 cup hot water in a bowl. Mix with your fingers until the water is soapy.
Dip a cloth into the solution and dab it on a stain, working from the edges of the stain toward the center. Repeat for all stains.
Dip a scrubbing brush into the soapy water if the stains are still visible. Scrub the solution into each stain until it lifts.
Rinse the previously stained areas by blotting with a water-soaked cloth.
Allow to air-dry completely before storing the velour air mattress.
