How to Reset the Fios Remote for a DVR

Save

The Verizon FiOS television provider offers customers a digital video recorder, or "DVR," box. As with other cable and satellite TV providers, the FiOS box comes with a remote that controls the DVR box and is also compatible with a variety of television sets. If the FiOS remote is malfunctioning, even after you have placed new batteries into the device and attempted to reprogram the remote, the remote must be reset. This puts the FiOS remote back to its original settings, allowing you to program the remote as if for the first time.

  • Press and hold the blue "STB" button at the top of the FiOS remote. Hold the button down for about five seconds. Do not release the button yet.

  • Press "OK" while still holding the "STB" button.

  • Release both buttons. The Device Keys, such as the "TV" and "DVD" keys, blink two times.

  • Enter the code "9-0-0" using the key pad on the FiOS remote. The "STB" button blinks three times. The FiOS remote is reset.
