How to Install Nero 8

The Nero 8 suite gives you the power to create, view, and manage desktop media.

The Nero 8 software suite contains a package of applications that you can use to create, share, back up and view audio and visual media. Nero 8 also contains a number of tools and utilities that can optimize hard drive and disc drive performance. You can perform a "Normal" installation of Nero 8 that puts all included applications and utilities on your hard drive, or you can select a "User defined" installation of only specified applications.

Instructions

1. Close all open applications and close your anti-virus software.

2. Insert the Nero 8 installation disc into your DVD-ROM drive. Click the "Nero 8" button in the AutoPlay window that automatically appears. Click "Next."

3. Read the license agreement and click "I accept all terms" to continue. Click the "Next" button.

4. Type in your name, company name and the product's serial number in the appropriate fields. You can find the serial number on the back of the sleeve that houses the Nero 8 installation disc. Click "Next" to continue.

5. Click to choose the type of installation you want to perform. Click the radio button next to "User defined" if you only want to install certain applications, specify the installation folder or install Nero 8 in a language other than English. Otherwise, click the button next to "Normal" and click "Next" to continue.

6. Click "Install" to start the Nero 8 installation. Installation progress is tracked via a progress bar. Once installation is complete, a program settings screen will appear.

7. Check the box next to any types of media files for which you want Nero to be the default program.

8. Click "Next" and click "Exit" to finish installation.

Tips & Warnings

• To run the Nero 8 software suite, your computer must run Windows 2000 or newer with Direct X 9.0c or newer installed. You must have at least a 1 GHz Intel Pentium III processor or AMD Sempron 2200+ processor, 256 MB of RAM, and 9 GB of free hard drive space.
