Printable collages are digital picture collages you can make with a computer program that allows you to print and frame collages or place them in your photo album or scrapbook. Several programs are available to make printable collages at little or no cost. Gather the digital images you wish to put into your collage and decide on a theme. It helps you stay organized if you create a specific folder on your compter to house all your photos.
Things You'll Need
- Microsoft Word
- Digital images
- Photo paper
Make a Collage with Microsoft Word
Download the collage add-on for Microsoft Word from the Microsoft.com website. This template is free to download and easy to use. After the download is complete, open the folder you downloaded to and double-click the icon "Digital Collage."
Click a box in the collage where you want to add a picture. On your toolbar, click on "Format," then "Shape Fill" then "Picture." Double-click a picture from the appropriate folder. Your picture will now show up on your collage. Microsoft Word will automatically re-size your picture to fit the box. Repeat this step for the remainder of your collage.
Click on "Print Preview" in your toolbar to view the collage, then select "Print."
Make a Collage with Picnik
Go to the Picnik homepage and click on "Collage." Upload your photos if you have not already done so by clicking "Upload Photos" located at the bottom left of the screen.
Choose a layout for the collage on the left side of the screen. If you are a free member of Picnik you will have 12 options; with a premium membership you can choose up to 50 options.
Click an image from your "Photo Basket" at the bottom of the screen and drag it to a box on the collage. Continue this until your collage is filled. Other options are available for editing the photo if you minimize the photo basket. To crop or re-size the collage, click on the "Edit" tab.
Click "Done" at the top right of the screen when you are finished and click on the tab "Save and Share" to save the collage to your computer. To print, find the image on your computer and double-click it. Whichever photo software you have loaded onto your computer will give you an option to print the picture.
Tips & Warnings
- To change a photo on your collage in Microsoft Word, add another picture over the previous one by clicking the box and going to "Format," then "Shape Fill" and "Picture" and selecting the new picture. This will replace the old picture on that box.
