Use Windows Explorer to add more songs to your iTunes library.

If you don't feel comfortable importing songs into iTunes from within iTunes, you can drag and drop the files into iTunes using Windows Explorer. After adding the songs to the iTunes library, you can sync the songs to your iPod just as you would songs you'd imported to the iTunes library from within iTunes. The amount of time it takes to import songs into iTunes using Windows Explorer and then load the songs to your iPod depends on how many songs you are moving.
