How to Fix 301 Errors

Anytime the Error 301 messages appear on your computer, it is due to corrupt or damaged system files. If you do not fix this error immediately, it can lead to additional system issues, blue screens and hardware problems. Frozen programs, installer errors, random shutdowns, system freezing and sluggish computer performance are common symptoms of the Error 301. Fortunately, you can fix the Error 301 with features native to your computer.

  • Click "Start" and then "Computer." Right-click "C" and select "Properties."

  • Select the "Tools" tab and click "Check now." Select "Continue" if the User Account Control prompt displays.

  • Select the "Automatically Fix File System Errors" option and click "Start." Agree to reschedule the check for the next system restart.

  • Reboot your system. Allow the check disk to detect and repair all Error 301 issues.
