How to Install a Kodak S100 Webcam

The Kodak S100 webcam has a built-in microphone, 1.3 megapixels and a VGA sensor. If you've never installed a webcam before, you might not know where to start. The Kodak S100 features a user-friendly hinged mounting device and the product utilizes a USB 2.0 connector. USB connections are designed for widespread compatibility with plug-and-play functionality. With these features, installing your Kodak S100 webcam only takes a few minutes.

  • Lift the clip on the underside of the webcam. This hinge is designed to clamp down onto the top of your monitor after the webcam is in place, making installation a breeze.

  • Place the webcam on top of your monitor and release your grip from the hinge. The clip presses against the back of the monitor and holds your webcam in place.

  • Turn on your computer.

  • Plug the webcam's USB cable into your computer. Once your plug the Kodak S100 into your PC, Windows detects the new device and installs driver files. The process is automatic, and a small pop-up appears in the right-side corner of your desktop when the device is ready to use. Once the drivers are automatically installed, your device is hooked up and ready to use.

Tips & Warnings

  • The Kodak S100 webcam is fully installed once you finish attaching the webcam to your monitor and the drivers are installed. However, you may still need to select the device within certain programs. In many Web chat programs, you'll find a drop-down box in a "Properties" or "Preferences" window, letting you select your video input device.
