How to Edit the Name in Front of My Gmail Address
Gmail is a free email service that allows users to customize settings including the name that appears in front of the Gmail email address. The name configured in the Gmail settings is the name that appears in the "From" field when you send an email. By default, this is the name that you used to register your email account. This name can be changed if you are would like to use a business name or nickname instead of your formal name.

Log in to your Gmail email account at gmail.com. Enter your username and password, and click "Login."

Click the icon that resembles a gear in the upper-right corner of the page. Click "Mail Settings" from the drop-down list of options.

Click the "Accounts and Import" tab from the Settings page.

Click the "Other Google Account Settings" under "Change Account Settings."

Click the "Edit" link under the email address you wish to change the name associated with.

Enter a new first and last name in the appropriate boxes. Click the "Save" button at the bottom of the page to save your changes.
