How to Decide the Shape of Your Eyebrows
The same eyebrow shape does not work on everyone. Your eyebrow shape should complement the shape, structure and features of your particular face. It should also suggest positive emotional qualities and personality traits. Whether you achieve your eyebrow shape by tweezing, drawing with an eyebrow pencil, or a combination of these two techniques, you should first make the following determinations about your face, perhaps with the assistance of a perceptive friend. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Determine your face shape to know how high or dramatic your eyebrow arches should be. If you have a round face, like Drew Barrymore, then a high arch will help make your face look more narrow. If you have a long face, like Jennifer Love Hewitt, then flatten your eyebrow arch for the opposite effect. If you have either an oval face or a heart face, then an average-sized arch will work best. People with square faces, like Demi Moore, can add a rounded curve on the ends of the eyebrows to help soften the facial angles.

2
Calculate where your brows should begin by placing a pencil alongside your nose so that it is vertical and rests on your right nostril. Make a small mark with an eyebrow pencil. Repeat this on the other side. For most people, your best brow shape will begin at the spot where the pencil meets your brow. If your eyes are especially far apart, start your brows slightly further inward toward your nose.

3
Calculate where your brows should end by placing a pencil on your face at an angle so that one end touches the end of your right nostril and the other touches the outer corner of your right eye. Make a mark with the eyebrow pencil where the pencil edge touches your brow. Repeat on the left side. For most people, these marks indicate where your eyebrows should end. If your eyes are especially close together, then you should extend your eyebrows slightly further toward the sides of your head.

4
Figure out how thick your eyebrows should be by looking at the strength of your facial features. If you have delicate features, then you should match them with thin eyebrows, whereas if you have strong features, make your eyebrows thick.
-
5
Combine this information about your ideal brow arches, starting and ending points, and thickness to determine an initial brow shape. Then form the shape and see how it looks. Brows communicate a lot about our emotions and personality, so you should ensure that your brows are conveying desirable traits. If yours are conveying undesirable traits, such as making you look tired, surprised, angry, sad or scared, then try making subtle tweaks to them to achieve a more desirable shape and consider asking a friend or a professional for assistance.
