How to Import a Word Document Into OneNote 2007

Microsoft OneNote 2007 is a note-taking program offered as part of Microsoft's Office 2007 suite. The program lets you create and organize notes, photos, audio, video and documents into notebooks. When you install OneNote 2007, a "Send To OneNote 2007" print driver is installed that lets you "print" any document from the original program to a page in a OneNote notebook. You can import Microsoft Word documents to OneNote by "printing" with this print driver.

  • Open Microsoft Word. Create a new document or load an existing document that you want to export into OneNote 2007.

  • Click the "Office" button and then "Print." Select "Send To OneNote 2007" from the "Name" drop-down menu.

  • Click "Properties." Adjust the layout of your Word document to Portrait or Landscape in the "Orientation" drop-down menu. Click "OK."

  • Click "OK" to print the Word document to OneNote 2007. OneNote will open and prompt you to select the notebook where you want to document to be placed. You can also place the document in "Unfiled Notes" and add it to a notebook later.

  • Click "OK." The Word document is added to OneNote.
