Bananas are a healthy addition to any diet. They contain essential nutrients such as potassium, vitamin C and B6. They are also a good source of energy since they contain complex carbohydrates. Bananas are a heart-healthy food and they do not contain any fat or sodium so that you can feel good about eating them. Small bananas do not necessarily need to be eaten straight from the peel. Things You'll Need

  • Knife
  • 4 bananas
  • Baking sheet
  • Bowls
  • 1/2 cup orange marmalade
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • Spoon
  • 1 tbsp. grated orange rind
  • 1 tbsp. grated lemon rind

Instructions

    • 1

      Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

      Cut about a 1/2 inch off of the top of the banana and a 1/2 inch off the bottom of the banana. The peel should remain on.

      Cut a slit on the back of the banana peel. Use a knife to start at the top and continue until you get to the bottom. This will prevent the banana from exploding.

      Place bananas on a baking sheet with the peels still attached.

      Bake for 20 minutes.

      Remove baking sheet from oven and remove peels from bananas. The bananas will still be hot so use caution.

      Mix together 1/2 cup marmalade and 1 tsp. lemon juice. Mix well with a spoon. Pour over bananas.

      Mix a tbsp. of grated lemon peel and a tbsp. of grated orange peel. Pour over bananas. Serve.
