How to Get Unstuck in Steamworks Island in "Poptropica"
The very beginning of the Steamworks Island level of Poptropica, an online game for children, has a puzzle featuring a pair of stuck gears. You'll get a reward for clearing these gears that will help you on other parts of the island, but you have to get the gears moving again first. All this requires is arranging an unbroken line of gears leading from top to bottom before turning the dial that moves them.

Go right once you get to Steamworks Island. Click on the stuck gears under the sign saying "Clockwork Cantina" to start a puzzle. You'll need to move the gears over from the right and place them in order to get them to turn easily.

Click on one of the large gears on the right and drag it to the peg next to the lower gear on the left. Click and drag the other large gear from the right to the peg directly below the top gear on the left.

Click and drag the three smaller gears one by one until they're all on the pegs joining the top and bottom gears. Spin your mouse over the turning arrow icon near the gears to spin them. You will get a "Multi-Tool" as a reward. This item can be used to move stuck gears in the other parts of the island.
