How to Fix Thick Eyebrows
Thick eyebrows, also referred to as caterpillar brows, are not always flattering. They may be bushy and unruly and can make your eyes appear smaller than they really are. Even though your eyebrows are meant to protect your eyes from the sun, sweat and debris, they also frame you face and help accentuate your expressions. To open up your eyes and get a groomed appearance, you can tame your eyebrows right at home. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Mark the starting and ending points of your eyebrows. Hold a ruler from your right nostril up toward your forehead. Use eyebrow pencil to mark your eyebrow where the ruler touches it. This is where your eyebrow will start. Rotate the ruler outward so the bottom touches your right nostril and the tip passes the corner of your right eye. Mark where the ruler touches the outer edge of your eyebrow. This is where your brow should end. Repeat this process on your left side.

2
Line up an eyebrow stencil with the marks you've made on your right eyebrow. Use an eyebrow stencil that is similar in width as your current eyebrow if your goal is to clean up and groom your brows. If you want to thin out your thick brows, you can use a thinner eyebrow stencil.

3
Comb your eyebrow hairs through the opening of the eyebrow stencil with your eyebrow comb. Shape them according to the cutout.
-
4
Trace the outline of the eyebrow stencil onto your eyebrow with your eyebrow pencil. Remove the stencil carefully.
-
5
Tweeze the hairs that fall outside of your outline. Remove the hairs in between your brows and tweeze the hairs at the outer corner and underneath your eyebrow. Hold the skin taut with the fingers of one hand and place your tweezers as close as you can to the root of your hair. Pull out one hair at a time in the direction of the hair growth. Avoid tweezing hair from the top of your brow because this may result in an unnatural looking eyebrow. Follow your natural brow line as much as you can. Repeat the process on your left eyebrow.

6
Wet a makeup remover pad with oil-free eye makeup remover and wipe it over your eyebrows to remove the eyebrow pencil outline.
-
7
Brush, shape and set your eyebrow hairs with eyebrow gel.
