How to Remove Prickly Thorns From Your Lawn
A lush green lawn seems to invite you to take a stroll across it barefoot. It feels soft against the soles of your feet. Inevitably though, you step on a pricker weed, and its thorns poke your foot. One of the most common pricker weeds is prickly lettuce. This is a broadleaf weed that grows in your grass during the summer months. Frost kills the weed in the winter, but more will sprout next year from new seeds. Does this Spark an idea?

Put on a thick pair of gardening gloves. Gather the weed's prickly leaves in your hand, holding them near the weed's base.

Pull the weed slowly out of the ground. Pulling too quickly causes the weed's leaves to tear off but leaves the roots in the ground. The weed will quickly rejuvenate from the roots.

Spray a broadleaf weed killer onto the area the weed was growing. An herbicide with the chemical napropamide in it is especially toxic to prickly lettuce.
