How to Fix Wrinkled Shirt Collars
There are several occasions in life, from a wedding to a job interview, which require a perfect shirt collar to make a good impression. The downside to several materials used to make collared dress shirts, including cotton and silk, is the wrinkling that occurs when the shirt is not hung up properly or stored in a dresser drawer. Removing the wrinkles from the shirt's collar is accomplished most effectively with a warm iron and a flat surface. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Adjust the iron's setting to the one recommended for your shirt's material. Allow the iron to heat up for up to 10 minutes.
-
2
Pull on the collar to straighten it out. Lay down the collar onto a flat surface or ironing board with the underside facing up.
-
-
3
Spray the collar with a light coating of starch. Beginning at the center of the collar, iron the surface outward to the points. This creates clean line and prevents further wrinkling.
-
4
Continue to iron the collar in a back and forth motion until the starch is completely dry.
-
5
Flip the shirt over and place the other side onto the ironing board's flat surface.
-
6
Iron this side of the collar in the same fashion. Do not add a second coating of spray starch, as this will make the collar too stiff.
-
7
Hang the shirt onto a hanger until it is worn. This ensures the collar remains crisp.
